“We can never draw a perfect circle.” This album illustrates a year in the life of Crush, a year symbolic of a life cycle — from the fluttering excitement of spring to the relentless heat of summer, then to the frigid cold months alone in the hospital bed as tears roll down silently. Dip Cuts Vol.1 captures the cycle of my year, documenting the moments in which traces of me are broken and pieced back together on repeat. Just as we cannot draw a perfect circle, we all move through life in an imperfect, incomplete state. Yet within that imperfection, I find my true self.

ABOUT Dip Cuts Vol.1

[Dip Cuts vol.1]는 오랫동안 한 길을 달려온 마라톤 선수의 자유로운 산책과도 같은 앨범이다. 어떠한 장르의 예술 분야든 파고들어야만 알 수 있는 지점을 가리키는 ‘deepcuts’라는 단어를 차용, ‘dipcuts’라는 본인만의 키워드를 만들어 2019년부터 사용해 온 크러쉬는 비로소 2024년 첫번째 [Dip Cuts Vol.1]를 발매했다. 그러나 정통적 유통 방식을 채택하지 않았다. 대신 그가 직접 작업실에서 사용한 인스트루멘탈을 스튜디오로 가져와 입체적으로 음악을 경험할 수 있는 비주얼라이저를 만들었다. [Dip Cuts Vol.1]는 이 비주얼라이저를 통해서만 감상이 가능하다. 그는 이 영상 속에서 만드는 소스, 장르, 기법에 한계를 두지 않고 본인의 넓고 깊은 음악적 세계에 빠져 자유롭게 유영한다. ‘wonder’가 맞이한 새로운 챕터.

Dip Cuts Vol.1 is like a leisurely stroll by a marathon runner who had been racing with a one-track mind. Inspired by “deep cuts,” referring to works of art discovered by the devotees after taking a deep dive of a single genre or artist, Crush coined the term “dipcuts” in 2019. In 2024, he released Dip Cuts Vol.1, not via the traditional distribution route, but by taking the instrumentals created in his personal studio and developing a visualizer that allows you to experience his music in a much more immersive way. Dip Cuts Vol.1 can only be fully experienced through this visualizer. Not limited to any one source, genre, or technique, Crush dives freely into his vast and profound world of music in this video, marking a new chapter of “wonder.”
